Fred.Olsen Renewables Ltd has been involved in wind power since 1997 with wind farms in Norway, Sweden, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The company has a number of wind farm sites operating or being developed within the UK and Ireland. Follow the links in the menu on the left or from our UK & Ireland Project map to find out more about specific projects.
Fred.Olsen Renewables Ltd is based in London and has highly skilled teams at all the sites who manage our wind farms and the local area around them for the minimum environmental impact and optimum power production into the UK electricity grid.

The UK is the windiest country in Europe, which is why our company is investing resources and expertise to help make the UK a leading renewable energy producer.
Fred Olsen Renewables has won a number of green energy awards including the 2004 Best Renewable Project prize at the Green Energy Awards for our Crystal Rig project.

Wind energy is a key part of the UK’s total energy production and is becoming more significant year on year. New production technologies in wind turbine design, manufacture and the application of wind modelling are producing greater efficiencies. For example a typical 2.5MW turbine used by Fred.Olsen Renewables will generate 6.5 million units of electricity each year*, enough to meet the annual needs of more than 1,400 households.
